IMHAANZ is the New Zealand affiliate of the
World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH).

Infant Mental Health is ‘the optimal social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of children ages 0 to 3 and developed by secure and stable relationships with nurturing caregivers’. (Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health®)

Here at IMHAANZ we’re passionate about the social and emotional well being of infants and their families.

Our work involves:

  • providing FAN (Facilitating Attuned INteractions) Training to teams and services
  • publication and distribution of the Two Homes | Ngā Kainga e Rua booklet which is about supporting relationships for babies and toddlers with two homes in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • supporting our Regional Groups to provide ‘grassroots’ networking and professional development opportunities to those working in the field of infant mental health
  • informing agencies, organisations and others about the importance of social and emotional development in young children
  • providing information to our members through our website, conferences, workshops, our Facebook page and newsletters.
